BANK HISTROY : Established in 1980, as THE KARAN URBAN COOPERATIVE BANK LIMITED was setup with an objective to promote financial cooperation among low and middle income. It was in line with the government’s focus and RBI Guidelines. The bank was with all the provisions and guidelines of the central government, state government and regulatory RBI. Initially, it was able to serve the citizens of one district but now the expansion has been made to many districts.

Bank was functioning in both rural as well as urban areas since its inception in 1980. The banking business continued in many districts of Haryana but thereafter, new branches were opened to cater larger area and customers. By March 2009, the number of branches of bank reached 25. Within this period bank created benchmarks for others to follow by setting standards in terms of exemplary customer service and in terms of having a vast base of highly satisfied customers, both in rural as well as in urban areas.

Going beyond the boundaries of Haryana State, expansion was made in other states too and bank earned the distinction by becoming the first bank in the state to give such services in many states under its category.

As on date all the 52 Branches stand computerized and the bank holds the honor of being one of the first computerized bank in its category. The bank has also achieved highest growth rate amongst the urban cooperative banks in North Haryana State.
